Event - Weddings - Wedding Theme Ideas -  Patriotic Wedding Ideas

The key to pulling off a coordinated event: Evoke your theme throughout the affair. Whether that theme is as general as a season or a feeling, or as specific as a special flower, it should be the subtle thread that ties everything together. Your location, invitations, flowers, menu, cake, and favors should all cleverly reflect one common concept. Then, get as creative as you can!

Are you planning a 4th of July Wedding? Are you getting married to your favorite Soldier? Or are you just so proud to be an American that you want to show it by making the most memorable day in your life a tribute to this beautiful country?

There are a few ways you can go to pull off the perfect Patriotic Theme for your Wedding.  You could go with a Liberty Bell wedding and use bells throughout or you could go with the Stars, Stripes, or just a color theme of Red, White, and Blue.  The possibilities are endless.  If you want the White wedding with just a touch of Patriotism, that can be done also.  Just think about how formal or informal you want your wedding and then go with the theme that will achieve what you have in mind.

Table Decor

At some point during the planning stages of your wedding the subject of linens will arise. When it does stop and think of all the possibilities available to you before you go with standard issue white polyester tablecloths. Remember the tops of the tables provide you with a very large surface area and covering them with a beautiful tablecloth is the easiest way to change the feel of a room.. It is also the most cost effective way to decorate. Ten tables covered with a theme or specialty linen print for example will make a statement that no white tablecloth can make.

First, start with a linen pattern that really makes your statement or that you adore. It may not be as expensive as you think. If it is beyond your budget, it can still be the starting point from which all else will emerge. Use it, but use "less" of it. For example: order napkins or chair sashes in the fabric, and pair them with a complementary tablecloth or use your favorite linen only on select tables, and use a coordinating, less expensive tablecloth on others. Alternate patterns on guest tables, or use your chosen pattern as a focal point on the head table, cake table and other prominent locations.

Don't be afraid of color and texture. White on white is lovely, but events of all kinds (even weddings) are often decorated in rich and exciting colors. Consider the romance of midnight blue, and the passion of vibrant red for your patriotic theme.

If you prefer a traditional, understated look, by all means choose traditional white. Add a touch of whimsy or an expression of personal style with accessories . . . elegant charger plates, intriguing napkin rings, or a single, stunning flower tucked into the back of a chair cover are the kinds of dazzling details that help set your wedding apart.

Use Bell Placecard Holders  and use some black or brown paint to paint a crack down the side like the Liberty Bell.

Being surrounded by flickering candles is a sure "fire" way to boost the mood. A room in any condition will look great illuminated by the glow of candles.

Filled Glassware, flutes, goblets, snifters, votive holders and mugs provide a gorgeous addition to any tabletop.

Napkins :

Bring color to the table via cloth napkins. Give each person two napkins slipped into one napkin ring. Use two different colors, two coordinating patterns or one patterned and one solid-colored napkin. A colorful setting can be achieved with little effort this way.

Show your guests just how much you care by offering Personalized Napkins that complement your theme.

Napkins can be laid out on a buffet table, or can be displayed at each place setting.

Place napkins in the center of each place setting at an angle, or unfold them and place them in glasses for a tall dramatic look.

The napkins can also be tied (and bundled with plastic cutlery) with a multitude of items to match your theme. Try Curling Ribbon, Gossamer Streamers, ric-rac or ribbon.

You can imprint your napkins with a special design.

Room Decor

Gossamer is a beautiful, lightweight "fabric" that creates a stunning dreamlike setting when it is draped or hung. You can create fabulous decorating touches with gossamer and it is very reasonably priced and holds its shape beautifully.  Gossamer is available in a multitude of colors and theme patterns, and there are different widths to fit any of your decorating needs. You are in for a delightful surprise, if you have never used gossamer in the past for decorating.

More patriotic decorating items.

Favors:

Make Bells into Liberty Bells by painting a crack down the side and fill them with Red White and Blue candy then tie  Pre-cut Tulle Circles around them with a Patriotic Ribbon holding it tight as a Favor for your guests.

Favor Boxes & Holders decorated with Patriotic Ribbons or even Personalized Satin Ribbon, or Special Occasion Ribbon.

Use Pre-cut Tulle Circles and designer wedding rice which is is safe for birds and animals and won't roll when stepped on. Or go with Tie-on bells on Wedding Bubbles.
