When you're thinking about personalizing your reception, some obvious ideas should come to mind. One of the easiest ways to customize your celebration is to choose a certain flower or color that you love, then carry that idea all the way through your event.

The key to pulling off a coordinated event: Evoke your theme throughout the affair. Whether that theme is as general as a season or a feeling, or as specific as this special flower, it should be the subtle thread that ties everything together. Your location, invitations, flowers, menu, cake, and favors should all cleverly reflect one common concept. Then, get as creative as you can!

Brides nationwide adopted a daisy theme for their weddings after an article was featured in Martha Stewart's Weddings magazine with the idea.

  • Cakes were covered with fresh daisies or daisies made from icing.

  • Centerpieces overflowed with daisies.

  • Guests received chocolate daisies as favors.

Needless to say, the season's weddings were awash in a sea of pale yellow and white as far as the eye could see.

If you love daisies then go far beyond carrying daisies in your bouquet and dressing your bridesmaids in a yellow hue. Let the carefree beauty of daisies bloom throughout your wedding.

Give your guests a glimpse of what's to come by sending a Daisy "Save the Date" Magnet & follow up with Wedding Invitations in a Daisy design. Carlson Craft has a wonderful selection of Invitations with a Daisy Design and other daisy products.

For the reception:

Remember the tops of your tables provide a very large surface area, covering them with lovely linens is the fastest and most economical way to change the look and feel of your reception area. It is also the most cost effective way to decorate.

Cover your registry table with a floor length table cloth. Add a vase of Gerbera Daisies.

Add fuchsia ribbon, tulle and string pearls around the edge of the table.

Use daisy ribbon as a bookmark in the guest book page.

Use large daisies (real or artificial) and organza bows as accents for the bridal head table, cake table and buffet tables.

Tie favor boxes with organza ribbon.

Cover favor tins with tulle circles and tie with organza ribbon.

Our containers were filled with personalized M&M's.

Drape strings of pearls on the tables.

Whether artificial or fresh, have your florist tuck a daisy inside each napkin.

Have your caterer sprinkle the salad greens with daisy petals (yes, they're edible)

Freeze daisy petals inside the ice cubes for your punch bowl.

Put a vase of daisies in the ladies' room.

Finally, give daisy seeds as favors, and see if you can find a poem about daisies to attach to the seed packets.
