The Bridal Bouquet:

Contemporary bouquets are inspired by unconventional ideas, styles and patterns and are designed with no specific geometric form. Contemporary bouquets represent the individuality of the bride and are perfect for a sophisticated, cosmopolitan style wedding. They're simplistic but have the added grace of asymmetrical design. 

Pristine callas are often a major design element, unexpectedly combined with freesia and punctuated with lily grass. 

Bouquets are usually created with flowers that have definite form and add character to the bouquet such as: Phalaenopsis Orchids, Tulips, Roses, and  Calla Lilies.

Beautiful contemporary bridal bouquets can be achieved by arranging a cluster of blooms at the top with other blooms hung in a downward-facing position along with cascading greenery like: ivy, blades of lily grass, hanging Amaranthus, millet, strings of spruce cones, gold mesh ribbon, & etc.

The Cake:

Round is classic, but square and hexagonal are more current. “A hexagonal shape immediately makes a cake look different,” says Betty Baird, of Sweet Tiers in Palm Beach, Florida. Alternating tiers—a round layer topped with a hexagon, then topped with another round—has caught on too. Tiers of uneven heights, such as a tall top and bottom and shorter middle layers, also give cakes contemporary chic. Sherry Yard, executive pastry chef for Spago Beverly Hills in California, says that when one of her triangular cakes is wheeled out after dinner, guests go crazy.
