The key to pulling off a coordinated event: Evoke your theme throughout the affair. Whether that theme is as general as a season or a feeling, or as specific as a special flower, it should be the subtle thread that ties everything together. Your location, invitations, flowers, menu, cake, and favors should all cleverly reflect one common concept. Then, get as creative as you can! Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Location: The par-fect location for a golf-theme wedding and reception is a golf course or country club. If you plan to have your wedding and reception outdoors, be sure to have a back-up plan in case the weather doesn't cooperate. Other locations to consider: mini-golf course, garden or park.

Colors: Shades of green, white with splashes of yellow or red.

Invitations

Attire

Encourage guests to wear golf attire. Do a retro golf wedding and have everyone dress in the golf attire of prior decades 20s, 30s, 40s and etc.

Bride

Choose a wedding gown that is more of a summer style (i.e. A-line, Sheath, with a summer style neckline {i.e. Halter, Sleeveless, Spaghetti Strap, or Strapless) and with a detachable train or without a train for a formal wedding. Make sure your dress has lots of pearls to represent tiny golf balls.
Wear a pearl necklace & earrings.
Use a bun wrap, comb, headband or crown with pearls to represent tiny golf balls.
Carry a large nosegay Bridal Bouquet of white roses (to resemble a golf ball) with lots of ivy encircling the bouquet and then trailing down almost to the floor.

Bridesmaid's

Bridesmaids similar attire summer style dresses (i.e. A-line, Sheath, with a summer style neckline {i.e. Halter, Sleeveless, Spaghetti Strap, or Strapless}) & headpieces with pearls.
Bridesmaids carry Rose Orb Bouquet.

Flower Girl

Flower girl attire might be a lovely white gown. Accent with a lovely white butterfly appliqué.
Have her carry a Rose Pomander or a Hydrangea Pomander . If you would prefer she carry a basket.

Groom, Groomsmens, Dads & Ringbearer

Groom, groomsmen could dress in tux or sports blazers with a golf tie.

Dress the Ring bearer up to look like a golf caddy. Knickers, sleeveless sweater vest, long shirt & cap.
He could carry a ring pillow, with golf balls piled up in a little mound & hot glued to the center of the pillow or you could just attach a Golf Bag Charm or another golf charm to your favorite ring pillow.

Golfers Dream! If your budget is low, but your dreams are grand, consider the depth of a giant photo mural. They fill an entire wall, and better yet, they provide guests with the most realistic setting imaginable. Pin wide ribbon around the base of several sheets of wheatgrass (available at health food stores & floral suppliers), tuck 1 or 2 daisies (or other flowers) inside a water tube, stick the water tubes down into the grass to create a greens-themed tabletop. This can be done as a long runner down the center of a banquet table or cut sheets into small squares and place in the center of round tables.

A topiary with a round white flower ball at the top would be the par-fect centerpiece.

Pew bows could have small round white flower balls attached to them.

Ice Sculptures of golf bag & clubs or golf balls with flowers inside.

Use a golf flag and place your table numbers on them.

Imprint your toasting flutes with a golf design or use a floral design and tie a ribbon bow onto the stem with white pearls attached to the ribbon, imprint your names & wedding date on the flutes.

Imprint napkins with a (GGB - Golf Couple) design & your wedding date. Tie with personalized ribbon, glue on some small pearls to represent golf balls or attach golf charms to the ribbon.

Use clear golf bag tags as napkin rings. On one side, put the person or event your party is honoring. On the other side, print the date and the occasion of your party. Allow each guest to take their golf bag tag home.

Use placecards with a floral design, glue two upside down Golf Tees to each placecard.

An alternative to the unity candle! Simply fill the two, 7 3/4" tall decanters with craft sand (sold separately) in single colors that represent the bride and groom. During the ceremony, the bride and groom pour sand from their decanters into a larger, 10 3/4" tall decanter. Decanters will be engraved with one initial each to display your married monogram.

We love using real Sand for decorative projects. Try pouring some in a bowl to secure candles, creating a sandtrap centerpiece.

Place a golf tee on top of a folded cloth napkin at each place setting.

Engagement par-tee, bridal shower, bachelor par-tee, or rehearsal dinner.
