Western Party Ideas for Adult & Teen Parties |
Create an event full of western
charm - from the invitations to the food - bring the Old West to your
event.
Western Theme Ideas
Use an old-fashioned "dinner bell" to get the attention of your guests.
First decide on your actual
theme, this will help you to narrow down on the motif you
choose for decorating your western event. For a "TexMex"
theme you might want to use a combination of
Western Decorations and
Fiesta Decorations or for a "Cowboy Casino" or "Texas
Holdem" Theme you might want to incorporate some
Casino Decorations and
Poker Decorations. Here are a few ideas we have used for western
themes.
| "Denim & Diamonds Hoe Down"
- the ultimate western party, this is the one
night where you can show up in your mink, designer
jeans and alligator boots—or your Dior gown with
boots and Stetson. It's no rules—just lots of glitz
and glamour. |
| "Wild, Wild
West Party" - round-ups, campfires, cowgirls, cowboys, and
cacti...! Wooden fencing and authentic scenery, can set a
wonderful ambience of your evening. |
| " Gunslinger Gala"-
imagine sauntering thru the streets of Laredo into
an Old West Saga complete with desperados,
gunslingers, saloon girls. |
| "Yellow Rose Ball"
- An elegant and colorful evening celebrating the
heritage and heroes of the Lone Star State. Native
Texas florals mixed with whimsical touches of
oversize cacti, huge cowboy boots and displays of
yellow roses can be used to carry out this theme. |
| "Cattle Baron's Ball"
- The warmth of Texas Hill Country hospitality
captured in a comforting ambience of limestone,
stucco and adobe surroundings. |
| "Cowboy Casino"
with poker, blackjack, roulette tables, scantily
clad dance hall gals and scads of desperados and
cowboys. |
| "A Taste of Texas Party"
- an eclectic and upscale mix of all things
Texas and the Great Southwest, authentic stucco,
cedar and limestone decor, old mission ruins,
weathered limestone walls and ranch fencing;
accented with large cacti, semi-tropical greenery
and cascading bougainvillea. |
No matter what you call your event, the key to pulling off a
coordinated event: Evoke your theme throughout the affair,
it should be the subtle thread that ties everything
together. Your location, invitations,
flowers,
decorations,
tabletops,
menu, cake, and
favors should all cleverly reflect one
common concept. Then get as creative as you can.
Western Motif:
The motif is the visual
representation for your western theme, which is created by
the use of objects or symbols. These objects or symbols may be repeated
on your invitations, program, plates, or decorations.
Develop your western motif using a list of words related to
a western theme. Brainstorm a list to create your pool of
ideas. This list is very important for generating ideas that
can be applied to all areas of your western event. For a
Western theme you might come up with words like:
Stalks of wheat, tumbleweed,
wild flowers, daisies, sunflowers, wild greenery, lattice trellis,
rope, watering cans, bullwhips, furs, rifles, pistols &
holsters, whiskey bottles, saddles, saddlebags, bridles, weathered, rustic tack ( leather horse collars, halters, harness, hitch &
etc.), animal hide rugs, cowhide, gingham fabric,
bandanas,
