parties,
or big golf events like the Masters or just for fun!
A
Golf
theme party is always a hit, especially if the guest of honor is
turning "fore-tee"! For a fore-tee birthday use
a slogan like: "Oh No...the Big Fore - 0" or

GOLF PARTY IDEAS
For
every woman who loves to swing her credit card around Barney's and
Bloomingdale's, there's a man who lives to swing his clubs down the
green. Commemorate an invigorating golf game or host a golf pre-tee with
golf-inspired partyware.
Our event planners have provided some ideas for a golf theme
with links to products you may want to use for your party.
The key to pulling off a coordinated
event: Evoke your theme throughout the affair. Whether that
theme is as general as a season or a feeling, or as specific as
a special flower, it should be the subtle thread that ties
everything together. Your location, invitations, flowers, menu,
cake, and favors should all cleverly reflect one common concept.
Then, get as creative as you can!
The first thing you want to do is create a slogan for the party. Here are some suggestions:
-
"50 (40, 30, etc.) Suits You To A Tee!"
-
"Happy Birdie to You!"
-
"It's a Par-Tee!"
-
"Join us Fore a Par-tee!"
Cut green construction paper into the shape of a putting green (don't forget the flag and hole) and write in your slogan and party information.
Or, design your invitation to look like a golf score card. The front could read "Stephens Country Club" (or whatever the host family's name is); inside is the party information!

Make your golf theme party, tee-rific with fun decorations. Here are some
ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
This "Greens" table top design
works best on a long banquet table. Create your own green by placing sheets
of wheatgrass (available at health food stores) as a runner down the
center of your table. Pin wide ribbon around the base. Add greenery
(trees) & flowers (daisy, sunflowers & etc) around your green.
Place the greenery & flowers (individually) into water tubes, then
stick the water tubes down into the wheatgrass to create your greens-themed
tabletop. Want to add a sand trap, just trim an area in the wheatgrass
& fill with sand (vanilla wafer crumbs). Don't forget to add
a few golf balls & flags!. Cut out triangles from fruit roll ups or
paper for flags. Attach to straws, pretzel sticks or dowels, depending on height
you need and place onto your green to resemble flags. Roll marshmallows
and place near flag for the golf ball or use real golf balls. Tip: Put two banquet tables together and
place 2 strips of wheatgrass down to center to make a larger green.
For a centerpiece for a round table cut
a piece of wheatgrass into a circle. Pin a wide ribbon around the base.
Stick a golf flag in the middle of the wheatgrass. If your party is celebrating someone's birthday, or a specific event, write that number or name on the flag.
Place a golf ball into the grass. Cut
"putting green" shapes (each one a little differently) to represent different
greens from grass mats & use as placemats. This will provide an attractive green surface.
An Astroturf Runner
made from wheat grass
(available from health food stores)
is the very foundation of our favorite sports bash decorating schemes.
Trust us - a little Astroturf goes a long way toward turning your party
area into a mini golf green. Use it as a dining table runner or cut
into shapes for placemats.
Create place cards by gluing them to two upside down golf tees.
Use clear golf bag tags
as napkin rings. On one side, put the person or event your party is honoring. On the other side, print the date and the occasion of your party. Allow each guest to take their golf bag tag home.
We
love using real sand
for decorative projects. Try pouring some in a bowl to
secure candles, or creating a sandtrap centerpiece.
Collect old photos of the guest of honor golfing and have them enlarged at a local copy store. Mount them on poster board and place them around the room.
Turn your backyard into your favorite practice hole
by setting up a Flag Stick. As close as you can come to actually having a green in your own backyard.
