Bowling
Party Slogan:
After selecting this theme for your party, choose a slogan to use in your invitations, and to use in tying in decorations and personalized favors to your super sports theme. Try one of the following, or brainstorm with the guest of honor to come up with the perfect slogan for your party:
- ”Can you "Spare" the afternoon? We're celebrating Brad's birthday!”
- “Tessa's Bowling Bash!”
- “This party will be right up your "Alley"...Let's "Strike" up some fun for William's birthday!"
Decorating Ideas
We’ve gathered everything you’ll need
to decorate, and celebrate with flair to "spare", and to
guarantee all-star action for everyone! Decorating for this party
can be fairly simple, because typically this party will be held at a
bowling alley and the focus will be on bowling. Try to greet guests
with a festive welcome, and create striking tables for eating, and for
food and gift display!
If you are hosting your party at a
bowling alley, you won't need to do too much decorating.
However, one item that we would recommend is a budget-priced Customized
Banner. Try this
Strike!
Personalized Banner or a
Bowling
Customized Memories Banner. Both include
plastic tabs for ease in hanging, and either one will lend a
terrific intimate touch to a large bowling alley.
Setting a table with the
Bowling Party Ware,
including the tablecloth, cups, plates, napkins, and cutlery is the
fastest way to create a focal point in a room.
Place one 12 X 12 “ linoleum
square (select one that looks like hardwood "alley") under
each plate as a placemat. Add red arrows with a red paint pen
if you wish.
Display your birthday cake in the
center of the table…the guests will love the close up view!
Order Napkins and
have them imprinted with the design of your
choice. The napkins
will serve several purposes…great decorating in disguise and a
treasured memento for the birthday person. Try one of the following ideas to liven up your table:
The napkins can be laid
out on a serving table, or can be displayed at each place setting.
Place napkins in the center of each place setting at an angle.
Unfold the napkins, pinch each in the center of the napkin and place the center point in the bottom of a cup or glass. This adds a festive touch while the cup or glass is still empty.
Bowling Party
ActivitiesAlthough this party will typically be held
at a bowling alley, and the bowling itself will be the headline activity,
a bowling birthday party just wouldn’t be complete without some additional
striking activities!
Set the stage for an all-star PBA
Tour event complete with dazzling player introductions, pumped up
music, and play-by-play commentary. A karaoke machine is
the perfect tool for a sports commentator to call the play-by-play!
Recruit a sports nut for the job. Give the announcer the
guest’s names and some pre-scripted notes.
Recruit a couple of friends to dress up in
a Bowling
Ball Costume , and take pictures of the guests goofing
around with these larger than life animated props. You'll treasure
the pictures and the ensuing silliness for years to come. As an
alternative, make each guest bowl a few frames dressed in a costume.
Who knows...scores may improve?
Purchase an inexpensive colored T-Shirt
for each guest from a discount store (such as Wal-Mart- approximately
$3.00-$4.50/top). On the back left corner of each shirt write each guest's
last name using fabric paint or even a permanent marker. On the
front of each shirt add a team name that involves the guest of honor's
name or slogan. "Steve's Strikers"; "George's
Gutter Guys"; "The Alley Cats"; ""Spare" me
the drama!!", etc. If you are dividing the group into
teams, purchase two different colors of bowling shirts. For
this purpose...the tackier the better.
At the conclusion of bowling, be
prepared to hand out some fun awards. Regardless of the age of your
guests, they'll get a kick out of the awards: Best Bowling Pose, Longest
Prep Routine, Most Ball Jams, The "Splitster", "Pick
up" Artist, High Score, Thought we were playing Golf (low score),
Gutter King, Alley Cat, Striker, etc. If children are involved, make
sure that you have one award for each, and that no feelings will be hurt.
If you are entertaining children,
this
Bowling Pin Craft Kit is a great activity. Some
young bowlers tire after a game or two, so you may need an additional time
filler depending on the length of the party. Assembly of this craft
doesn't require a lot of space or cleanup.
A Bowling Pin Piņata
is a must have, we’ve yet to find a child who doesn’t want to take a
swing at one at a party.
