Luck
of the Irish Party Ideas
Here are a few
party ideas & decorating tips to help you get started thinking like
the Irish!
The key to pulling off a coordinated
event: Evoke your theme throughout the affair, it should be the subtle thread that ties
everything together. Your location, invitations, flowers, menu,
cake, and favors should all cleverly reflect one common concept.
Then, get as creative as you can!
If creativity is your
thing, here is an idea for a unique and fun invite: Purchase
Green Carnations
and cut a strip of rainbow-colored paper
or a shamrock to write your details on and attach it to the
carnation. Tell your guests "With any Luck O' the Irish, you will
find your Leprechaun here!" Your friends will flood to your
"makeshift pub" for a good time!
Setting the Mood:
Celebrate St. Patrick's
Day with a gathering that's all Irish. Set the mood with lively
Irish Party Music, great
St Patrick's Day Decorations, and have plenty of Fun St Patrick's Day
favors and wearable party items on hand for your guests to pick from as they
arrive. Your guests will feel Irish in an instant!
Start by
hanging a
ST. PATRICK'S DAY BANNER
above the entryway or a
buffet tables.
A
RAINBOW MURAL
is
the perfect thing to place on a wall leading to the
food table, or the "Pot O' Gold" bar!
An easy way to bring the
Emerald Isle to your party is with festive balloon decor. Fill
balloons with helium, tie them to chair backs, float them on the ceiling
or tie them to a mail box or fence post. Scatter air filled
balloons on the dancefloor and dangle clusters of balloons down from
the ceiling at different heights. Use balloon bouquets as
centerpieces. This is a great party for
balloon
clouds and rainbow
balloon arches.
Make a rainbow arch over a cake table or buffet table.
Columns
of rainbow balloons can be placed at each corner of the dancefloor.
Hang
balloon clusters around the room. Use
balloon swags
to lower a high ceiling and make your room more cozy. This
St Patrick's Balloon Arch will make a great photo op.
Whenever you hang things
from the ceiling people expect a party - so get them all excited!
Dangle
SHAMROCK CEILING DECORATIONS over a buffet
table or dance floor for added impact.
Decorate your doorway
with
BLARNEY ZONE PARTY TAPE and show your
colors. Then add some life to your walls with
ST PATRICK'S DAY CUTOUTS.
For your tables, stick
with more green! Use a combination of
DARK GREEN TABLEWARE & CUTLERY
and
KIWI GREEN TABLEWARE & CUTLERY
along with themed
tableware for a designer look.
For your centerpieces, make your own centerpiece. Purchase a round clear glass cylinder vases ( 8", 10", or 12"
height). Make sure opening at the top of the vase is about 3 1/2
inches. Fill vases with
GREEN BEADS. Add an oasis cage
floral cage to the top of the vase. Purchase several dozen white
carnations from your local floral outlet. Cut end of stem under
water & then immerse the fresh cut flower stems in water with flower
food for several hours before arranging. When the carnations
are ready, cut the stems again as you place them into the oasis cage
to make the arrangement. Cut your stems so that they are about 2
inches long, then push them into the oasis cage. Continue adding
flowers until the entire cage is covered. For a whimsical touch tie
some green or white feather together with floral wire and stick them
down into the middle of the
flowers. (Products for this your arrangement are available at craft &
floral supply stores).
Tie napkins up with
a
SHAMROCK BRACELET
or BEADS for a festive display.
