Tabletop Decor Tips:
Remember the tops of your tables provide you with a very
large surface area and covering them with a themed
tablecover or a beautiful linen tablecover is the
easiest way to change the look & feel of a room.
SOLID COLORED TABLECOVERS
are preferred over plain white tablecovers. You can use
several solid colored tablecovers if desired, but we suggest no
more than three colors.
To create a designer tabletop, use a combination of themed &
solid color tableware. For example: If you are using themed
plates, then chose a solid color for the tablecover. Place a
solid colored napkin down into a themed cup to add color to
the tabletop. Add forks, knives & spoons in a color that
coordinates with the color of the tablecover.
Bring color to the table via napkins. Give each person two
napkins slipped into one napkin ring. Use two different
colors, two coordinating patterns or one patterned and one
solid-colored napkin. A colorful setting can be achieved
with little effort this way.
Tie napkins with curling ribbon, gossamer steamers, or add
theme associated items like (beads, bracelets, necklaces,
sunglasses, headbands, rings, ribbon, or flowers) to serve
as a napkin rings.
The napkins can be laid out on a serving table, or can be
displayed at each place setting. Place napkins in the center
of each place setting at an angle. The cutlery can be added
before the napkin is tied.
Unfold the napkins, pinch each in the center of the napkin,
and place the center point in the bottom of each glass or
cup. This adds a decorative touch while the glass or cup is
still empty.
Curling ribbon can be made into curls and scattered over
tabletops for an inexpensive and easy decorative
touch.
Crepe
Streamers can also be used to accent tabletops by making
rosettes that can be attached to the corners of table, they
can also be used to make bows for gifts.
For a romantic tabletop, nothing beats candles. Use pillar
candles (different heights) grouped together. On some of the candles wrap a
piece of 1-1/2" to 2" ribbon around the candle base and
secure with a pearl tipped floral pin. Group the candles in
the center of the table or for a romantic dinner for two,
place the candles on one side of the table leaving room on
the other side of the table for your place settings.
Twinkle lights look lovely when strands are placed down the
center of a tabletop. While a white cord blends well with
most color schemes, if you want to stick with your color
theme, try this idea. Remove the bulbs from the light
strand, and spray-paint the cord to match your theme color.
Tape dangling light cords to the underside of the table or
to the floor. Lots of oohs and aahs will follow! You can
also light up at table by placing twinkle lights under the
table.
Tissue flowers, & tissue fans, will never go out of style!
Attach them to table edges, or tabletops. Tissue decorations
are perfect for those working with a limited budget as they
add bold splashes of color at economical prices.
Garland is ideal to mold around centerpieces, outline the
edges of tabletops, wrap around candle bases and votives.
No respectable party tabletop should be left without a
sprinkling of confetti! However, confetti isn't just for
tables anymore! Try sprinkling confetti in a color to match
your theme on an outdoor pathway leading to your party
location, in party invitations, or even inside balloons for
a great, unique touch at a budget price.
For upscale parties, lighted centerpieces are very popular.
Add to table decor by serving your favorite drinks in a
11 OZ LED WINE GLASS or
a
11 OZ LED MARGARITA GLASS . These glasses are also a fun way to light
up your desserts. Use for fruit cups, shrimp cocktail or an
ice cream
sundae.
While decor still reigns supreme when invoking theme, an
interactive element brings vitality to your theme concept.
Besides the theme decorations to evoke your theme — bring in
traditional entertainment to perform where guests can
interact and be part of the event, rather than just
spectators.
