Puppy Personalized Banners Each
Puppy Party Tips
Line the walkway leading to your door with Paw Prints.
A Puppy Personalized Banner works great inside or outside…and will
make the birthday child feel paw-sitively special.
Attach a bouquet of helium-filled
Balloons to a light post or
mailbox so there will be no mistaking where the fun will be
that day!
Decorating Tips:
Never underestimate the power of music to set the tone for
your party.
Color Scheme:
When using a color scheme use one or two main colors and
build around these. If you choose to use only one color for
your decorating, try to add little touches of another color
or a lighter or darker shade of the same color to create a
more pleasing effect. Adding little splashes of white,
black, gold or silver will not detract from your main color
choice, and the effect will be considerably more dramatic!
If you have decided to go with a "theme" for your party use
colors that relate to that theme.
When using a "theme", choose basic colors, then add some fun
props related to your theme to create a spectacular party
setting!
A well decorated table really
serves to bring the whole theme together. Remember your
tables provide a very large surface area so start by covering
the table with a
Party Pups Tablecover that is the fastest way to change the
look and feel of your party area. Then add a Party Pups Centerpiece . Accent your
centerpiece with
Party Pups Paw Print Balloons tied to a balloon weight with
blue curling ribbon. Add the tableware (plates, cups,
napkins, cups) using a combination of themed tableware and
solid color tableware
to create a designer look.
You could also decorate the table with a Dog Bone Cake, or
create a balloon bouquet of
helium filled Party Pups Paw Print Balloons.
Bundle cutlery with
luncheon napkins and
tie with
curling ribbon. Place napkins in the center of
each place setting at an angle, or unfold them and place
them in glasses for a tall dramatic look.
Napkins can also be laid out on a buffet table.
Party favors also make great table decorations. At each
place setting, add a dish of K-9 Candy or another favor.
Balloons Decorations
Balloons can economically transform any room, backyard or
park into a festive space in a matter of minutes by using
some of the following ideas:
Use a Helium Tank to fill
balloons. Tie
Curling Ribbon to
balloons, and group them together. (Odd numbers look best:
3, 5, or 7) Place groupings of balloons around the party
room.
Tie a bunch of helium filled
Balloons to the birthday
child’s chair, or tie one to the back of each chair.
If you choose not to use helium, tie balloons to varying
lengths of curling ribbon, and hang balloons from the
ceiling, or from a light fixture over the party table.
Balloon arches are
ideal for photo backdrops, entryways, and to hi-light
different areas around your party room and are easy to make.
If you don't want to do a Balloon Arch,
a column of balloons
will work much the same way that arches do, and can be used
for entryways, photo backdrop, or for a terrific splash of
color when placed at intervals around a party room. You make
columns in the same way as arches but they stand straight-up
and can be built to any height you wish.
Balloon swags
make the perfect accessory. They can be hung
across the ceiling of a tent, or a room with a high ceiling
like banquet halls or a gymnasium.
Streamers offer an economical way to splash lots of color
around the site of the party. Create a fun and colorful
effect by draping streamers from the center of the ceiling
to the walls on each side of the room, or between trees if
the party is being held outdoors. The streamers can be
twisted after they are anchored to a ceiling wall or table
for a more dimensional look. Two different colored streamers
can be placed back to back and twisted for a unique look.
They also look terrific hanging from doorframes or cascading
vertically down walls.
Take digital or Polaroid photos of guests with the
Personalized Puppy Standee Each decoration and send them home with guests in
a Party Pups Photo Frame .
Kids always love
Bubbles,
and
coloring books.
Party Activities
Play Puppy Hide ‘n Seek. This classic game is still a big
hit. The child who is “It” must find all the little bones
(party guests) who are hiding. “It” goes into the Dog House
and counts to 20 before going in search of the bones. The
last “bone” to be discovered becomes “It.” Make the game
even more fun by making the kids scamper around on all
fours!
Play musical bones using the same concept as the timeless
game of musical chairs…one less bone than there are children
for each round. Tape Dog Bones on the floor in a large
circle that the children must walk around while the music is
playing. When the music is turned off, the children must
scramble to stand on a bone. The child without a bone to
stand on must head to the doghouse, and the game continues
with one less bone until there is one child remaining. Be
prepared to take some hilarious pictures as the Dog House
fills to capacity! The bones can also be hidden throughout
the party site, and the kids can hunt for them as they play
“T-Bone, T-Bone…Where’s Your Bone?”
Host your very own barking contest where everyone is a
winner. Each puppy gets to give her best bark, and then you
can award prizes for loudest, saddest, most real,
squeakiest, funniest, etc.
Play Puppy Says (Simon Says) using commands that puppies
might hear at Dog Obedience School. Puppy says, “Sit up and
beg.” Puppy says, “Roll over.” “Scratch your ear with your
hind leg.” The last puppy to obey wins.
Engage the kids in some Freeze Dancing, played with some dog
gone good music! Burn a CD with some favorites of puppies
everywhere…”Who Let the Dogs Out?,” “You Ain’t Nothin’ But a
Hound Dog,” “How Much is That Doggie in the Window?,” or “B
I N G O.”
Don't forget the Piñata, we’ve yet to
find a child who doesn’t want to be showered with goodies at
a party!
If you have extra time because the children have moved
quickly through your planned activities, play Puppy, Puppy,
Dog (Duck, Duck, Goose); Hot Dog (Hot Potato); or Leap Dog
(Leap Frog).
Party Food & Cake Ideas
Paw-fect food for your Puppy
Party is a snap with these food and cake ideas.
As the excitement is so high at children’s birthday parties,
most children under the age of 10 will eat very little, and
the waste can be disheartening. Schedule your party during a
time when parents will not expect that their children will
eat a meal…and serve only cake, ice cream, and a few other
healthy munchies such as apple wedges, pretzels, raisins,
and grapes (cut in half for toddlers).
Your food will be paw-fect if you serve sandwiches cut into
bone shapes with
Dog Bone Cookie Cutter. Bake and frost bone-shaped
sugar cookies. J-ello® Jigglers are also a perennial party
favorite with young children.
Serve snacks in plastic dog bowls – animal crackers, mini
pretzels, M & M’s, grapes, raisins, or cheese balls.
Use plastic dog bowls to serve cake and ice cream. To make
the party puppy perfect, let the kids eat the cake and ice
cream without a spoon or fork…just the way their puppy pals
would dig in! Make sure you have your camera ready for this
party highlight.
Serve beverages in adorable
Party Pups Cups.
To make an extra-easy Bone Cake you will need one 9 X 13
cake and four large cupcakes (or bakery over-sized muffins.)
After baking and cooling the rectangular cake, cut it in
half lengthwise, and discard one of the halves or use for a
second dog bone cake. Add two
cupcakes to each end of the rectangle. Frost the entire cake
with white or chocolate frosting.
As an alternative, bake a yummy Pup-Cake right in a new
large metal dog dish. Frost it with waves of chocolate
frosting or Chocolate Cool Whip, and add candles to top it
off! The kids will be tickled at the sight of this simple
cake!
If you are serving more people than can be accommodated by
one boxed mix, we recommend that you simply bake extra
cupcakes or an extra rectangular cake. All can be frosted in
matching frosting, and cut and served behind the scenes.
