Rock Party Ideas
“Totally Cool…Girls Rule!”
“Madison will Rock the House…at her 10th Birthday!”
Invitations:
Choose
Camp Rock Invitations to let your guests know that they
are an important part of hottest birthday celebration in
town!
Kids love to dress up! In your
invitation, request that guests come to the party dressed as
divas or teen pop stars. Involve the adults attending the
party too. Behind every Diva is a meddling manager, a
high-powered agent, a stage mother, hounding paparazzi, and
even a backup band…and we have a terrific selection of
costumes to choose from to get everyone in on the action!
Outdoor decorations:
Attach a bouquet of helium filled
balloons to a light post
or mailbox so there will be no mistaking where the fun will
be that day!
Greet your guests by hanging a
personalized birthday banner
from your front door or entrance, with a special message for
the guest of honor or use a
Camp Rock Birthday Banner or try a
Disco Diva Banner.
A fabulous way to add spunk right from the get-go!
Line a walkway with glittery
Stars. Tape the stars with masking or duct tape to the
sidewalk or walkway leading to your front door.
Table Decorations:
Setting a table with the party ware, including the
tablecloth, cups, plates, napkins, and cutlery is the
fastest way to create a focal point in a room.
Add one or a few of the following touches to personalize
your table:
Create a centerpiece using a bunch of helium filled
balloons tied with
curling ribbon. Attach them to a
Silver Star Balloon Weight .
Display your birthday cake in the center of the table…the
kids will love the close up view!
Camp Rock Napkins can be laid out on a buffet table, or can be
displayed at each place setting. Place napkins in the center
of each place setting at an angle, or unfold them and place
them in glasses for a tall dramatic look. The napkins can
also be tied (and bundled with plastic cutlery) with a
multitude of items to match your theme. Try
Curling Ribbon,
Gossamer Streamers, ric-rac or ribbon.
Bring color to the table via napkins. Give each person two
napkins slipped into one napkin ring. Use two different
colors, two coordinating patterns or one patterned and one
solid-colored napkin. A colorful setting can be achieved
with little effort this way
For an original touch on your
party table, use a silver paint pen to draw random dots or
squiggles on the handles of Plastic Cutlery. Tie the plastic
flatware together with curling ribbon or gossamer
streamers…big impact at a little price!
Color Scheme:
When using a color scheme use one or two main colors and
build around these. If you choose to use only one color for
your decorating, try to add little touches of another color
or a lighter or darker shade of the same color to create a
more pleasing effect. Adding little splashes of white,
black, gold or silver will not detract from your main color
choice, and the effect will be considerably more dramatic!
If you have decided to go with a "theme" for your party use
colors that relate to that theme.
When using a "theme", choose basic colors, then add some fun
props related to your theme to create a spectacular party
setting!
Indoor Decorations:
Create your own Diva Stage
with an
Inflatable Standing Microphone, it will be the hit of
the party and will provide hours of entertainment.
Add a
music scene setter to
the back of the stage and let the music begin! It can also
serve as backdrop for the ultimate Diva photo shoot and for
an extravagant concert staged by the birthday girl and her
posse.
No concert venue would be complete without special effects.
Add
Music Note Lights and a Bubble Machine or
Fog Machine to
create the biggest and best birthday bash ever!
Metallic, vinyl, star,
holographic, or cracked ice curtains provide an economical
way to add dazzle to a doorway, food area or “stadium”
entry. Metallic, vinyl, star, holographic, or cracked ice
curtains are available online from
ShindigZ.com
The
natural accessory for the party crowd is this 3"
Gold Guitar Bling on a heavy
silver 36" chain.
This
60" Inflatable Guitar is
great for a decoration when "Camp Rock" is your theme.
Give each guest their own
9" LED Microphone.
Balloons
Add
Balloons,
streamers,
Curling Ribbon,
Camp Rock Birthday Banner, and even a
Guitar Pinata to match this theme.
Balloons can economically transform any room, backyard or
park into a festive space in a matter of minutes by using
some of the following ideas:
Use a Helium Tank to fill balloons. Tie
Curling Ribbon to
balloons, and group them together. (Odd numbers look best:
3, 5, or 7) Place groupings of balloons around the party
room.
Tie a bunch of helium filled balloons to the birthday
child’s chair, or tie one to the back of each chair.
If you choose not to use helium, tie balloons to varying
lengths of curling ribbon, and hang balloons from the
ceiling, or from a light fixture over the party table.
Balloon arches are
ideal for photo backdrops, entryways, and to hi-light
different areas around your party room and are easy to make.
If you don't want to do a Balloon Arch,
a column of balloons
will work much the same way that arches do, and can be used
for entryways, photo backdrop, or for a terrific splash of
color when placed at intervals around a party room. You make
columns in the same way as arches but they stand straight-up
and can be built to any height you wish.
Balloon swags
make the perfect accessory. They can be hung
across the ceiling of a tent, or a room with a high ceiling
like banquet halls or a gymnasium.
We offer some instructions on how to make:
Streamers offer an economical way to splash lots of color
around the site of the party. Create a fun and colorful
effect by draping streamers from the center of the ceiling
to the walls on each side of the room, or between trees if
the party is being held outdoors. The streamers can be
twisted after they are anchored to a ceiling wall or table
for a more dimensional look. Two different colored streamers
can be placed back to back and twisted for a unique look.
They also look terrific hanging from doorframes or cascading
vertically down walls.
Party Favors
Here are some other ideas for appropriate favors for your
party theme!
Party Activities
Never underestimate the power of
music to set the tone for
your party.
A Diva party just wouldn’t be
complete without some oversized egos and star-studded
activities! This theme is perfect for any girl who has ever
sung into a hairbrush in the bathroom and dreamed of being
in the spotlight!
Gather all the fun dress-up
clothing you can find (or borrow from friends)…fun, fancy,
foo-foo outfits (size is completely irrelevant),
Feather
Boas, faux fur wraps, hi-heeled play shoes, pleather pants
or skirts, capes, etc. As each guest arrives, invite her
back stage to the wardrobe area to prepare for the big
concert. Present
sunglasses to each Divas to cut the glare
from photographer’s flashbulbs and blazing spotlights!
After each guest has selected
an outfit befitting a Diva, apply dramatic makeup, style
hair and paint nails. Have a supply of Glitter Gel, Hair Gel,
Lip Gloss,
Child's Neon Hair Braid,
glow jewelry, and lots of
costume jewelry.
This is a great place to call upon adult friends and family
for help. If you can convince them to dress up and play a
role as hairdresser, manicurist, makeup artist, paparazzi or
meddling agent, the party will be all the more fun for the
super-stars.
After the girls are ready to
rock, the party will take on a life of its own! Prior to the
party, burn a special party soundtrack for each girl, made
up of all the birthday girl’s favorite songs.
A Karaoke Machine is the perfect birthday gift for a
super-star and it can be used throughout the party.
Next, have the pint sized pop stars take the stage! Our
Inflatable Standing Microphone will bring out the
“sassy” in the shyest of girls. If some of the girls are
timid to begin with, have the adults leave the room for a
short time. Provide
Microphones and
Inflatable Instruments
and watch the girls transform into video vixens! This
backdrop provides a great setting for a stylin’ photo shoot,
a rockin’ music video, and for hours of fun as each girl
takes a turn in the spotlight!
If you wish, you could hire a
dance instructor or high school girl to come to the party to
choreograph a dance or direct a music video. Invite parents
to come 15 minutes prior to the end of the party, and let
the girls perform a mini concert for them. Every girl should
enjoy at least 15 minutes of fame! Have parents ask for
autographs and take lots of photos of the group. Provide
Silk Roses for the parents to present to each of the Divas,
because an adoring public is a big part of the life of a
Diva!
We offer a wonderful
Guitar Pinata and we’ve yet to find a child
who doesn’t want to take a swing at one at a party. Divas
love to be showered with compliments and with candy and
treats!
Party Food & Cake Ideas
Watch all the divas light up
when they see this easy to make super-star cake!
What you’ll need:
|

Star Cake Pan
|
1- Cake mix
1 - Star Shaped pan
1- 16 oz. container of ready-made frosting (Reserve ¼ cup to
frost the snowball.)
Wilton Violet coloring paste or gel
Hostess Snowball™
Hostess Ho Ho™
Silver Dragees (edible silver balls) |
Bake the cake according to the directions on the package.
Place the star cake on the cake board. Frost with violet
tinted icing. Cover the top of the Snowball with white
frosting, and then roll it in the silver dragees. Place the
snowball on the top of the cake. Add the Ho Ho to the bottom
of the snowball to make it look like a microphone. Attach
two silver dragees with frosting to the Ho Ho to create an
off/on switch.
If you prefer cupcakes, try making these easy
“Microphones”…guaranteed crowd pleasers:
What you’ll need:
1 Cake mix
24 flat-bottomed cones
16 oz. container of frosting
Silver Dragees
Prepare mix according to the directions on the package.
Spoon about ¼ cup of the batter mix into each cone. Place
cones in muffin tin for easiest handling. Bake for
approximately 20 minutes at 350 degrees, or until toothpick
inserted in the center of the cupcake comes out clean. Cool
completely, frost the top of the cone, and then roll the
frosted part of the “cupcake” in the silver dragees.
Food:
As the excitement is so high at children’s birthday parties,
most children under the age of 10 or 11 will eat very
little, and the waste can be disheartening. If you wish,
schedule your party during a time when parents will not
expect that their children will eat a meal and serve only
cake, ice cream, and a few other diva-worthy munchies.
If you decide to serve a light meal, serve food that you
would typically find at a concert concession stand…pizza by
the slice, nachos, popcorn or soft pretzels.
Offer some “Special Effects Juice” as a beverage. The girls
will be spellbound when they witness your power to turn an
ordinary beverage into a stage-worthy attraction! Start with
pink or purple punch. After you have placed a filled glass
in front of each guest, add a few
Pop Rock Blue Rocks candies to each one. Since this
candy is processed with carbon dioxide, it will crackle,
pop, and spit when it comes into contact with a liquid.
