Baby Bootie Baby Shower
Games
Play hilarious games at your
baby shower- from creative to downright wacky- and then make
sure that the Mommy-to-be gets all the Bootie (good stuff)!
Bootie Toss
- Object
- Test your guest's baby
knowledge, and send mom home with a cute gift.
- Play
- Before the shower pick
up a cute little pair of baby shoes. You will need just
one baby bootie for this game, but mom can take the pair
home with her at the end of the party. Have all guests
stand in circle. As the bootie get tossed from guest to
guest (in no particular order), each guest that catches
the bootie has to name an item that a baby needs.
Answers cannot be repeated. Guests only have 5 seconds
to think of something; if they cannot name an item, they
are out. This game at first is very easy, but as normal
baby items get used up, people start to get more
creative. The last guest standing with the bootie in
hand wins the game.
Match the Socks
- Object
- Okay, so this one
doesn't involve booties, but this game is a lot more fun
with socks because guests have to match 'em up fast!
- Play
- Before the shower ask
guests to bring a cute pair of baby socks - patterned
socks make this game especially fun. At the party
separate the socks and toss them in a pile. Each guest
gets 10 seconds to match them. If you have a big crowd
and a lot of socks, allow more time. The guest with most
matches wins a prize, and the mother-to-be gets to take
home all the socks.
Candyland Baby Shower Games
We've got the sweetest baby
shower games around! Each of these games have something to
do with - you guessed it, candy.
Guess the Jelly Beans
- Object
- An oldie but a goodie,
and just like the name says, guests must guess the
number of jelly beans in a jar.
- Play
- An oldie but a goodie.
Fill a large clear container with jelly beans (unless
you have a lot of chocolate lovers in the group, then
kisses or other candy will work just as well). Have each
guest make a guess as to how many pieces of candy are in
the container. The guest who comes closest without going
over wins the jar of candy.
Candy Scramble
- Object
- See which guest can
unscramble candy names the quickest.
- Play
- Make a photcopied list
of the names of kids candy - ring pop, nerds, snickers,
gummy bears - with the letters scrambled. Pass out the
pieces of paper to the guests, and give them three
minutes to figure out the names of the candy! The guest
with the most correct answers wins a prize.
Our Favorite Baby Shower
Games
Check out favorite baby
shower games - some oldies, some with a new twist, and some
that will leave the mother with a keepsake of her baby
shower!
Measuring Up Mommy
- Object
- See who can most closely
guess the size of mom's tummy.
- Play
- For this game, you will
need a couple of rolls of toilet paper. Have each guest
estimate how much paper it will take to go all the way
around the new mommy's stomach, and tear off that much
toilet paper. Then each guest wraps their piece around
her pregnant tummy to see who's guess is most accurate.
The most accurate measure wins a prize.
Here's Lookin' At You, Kid!
- Object
- See which guest can
identify the most baby pictures.
- Play
- Before the shower, ask
each of your guests to bring baby pictures of
themselves. Lay them out on the table and number each
one. Give each guest a pen and paper, and number as many
lines as there are photos. Then have guests guess which
person at the shower matches each baby photo by writing
their name next to the number that corresponds with each
picture. Guest with the most correct answers wins a
prize.
Don't Say Baby
- Object
- Just like the name
implies: see who can make it through the shower without
saying "baby"!
- Play
- When each guest enters
the room, hand them one diaper pin and tell them that
for the length of the shower they can't say the word
"baby". During the shower, when someone accidentally
says the forbidden word, the person who catches them
saying it gets to take their diaper pin away from them.
The person with the most diaper pins at the end of the
shower wins the game.
Wearing A Memory
- Object
- Okay, this isn't really
a game, but it's fun for the guests, and the mommy-to-be
gets to take away a keepsake of her shower.
- Play
- Get a hospital gown like
the one she'll be wearing on the Big Day, and lay it out
flat on a table with some fabric markers. Have each
guest write a special note to the guest(s) of honor.
Whether or not she wears this when the baby is born, the
mom has a lasting memory of everyone who attended her
baby shower.
Baby Truth or Dare
- Object
- To test your guest's
baby know-how.
- Play
- Before the shower, write
down some baby trivia - some of the trivia should be
purposely incorrect. At the shower, ask certain people
if these baby "facts" are true or false. If they guess
correctly, they win a prize. If they are incorrect, the
guest must perform a silly dare in front of everyone.
The Seventh Gift
- Object
- To add another element
of fun to the gift opening.
- Play
- Tradition dictates that
the woman who catches the bride's bouquet at a wedding
will be the next to marry. Not so well-known is the
fable that the giver of seventh gift unwrapped by the
new mommy will be the next to have a baby. Don't tell
the mommy, however, so she can't "plant" the seventh
gift she unwraps.
"Firsts" Baby Shower Games
From creating a story to
crafting a quilt, these games inspire creativity and fun,
even if you don't come in "first".
Baby's First Piggy
- Object
- A creative way to fill
up baby's first piggy bank.
- Play
- When guests arrive at
the shower, tell them you are having a raffle for a door
prize, $1 per ticket. The hostess should find the door
prize - it could be anything from a gift certificate to
a complimentary house cleaning. After everyone has
arrived, have the mother pick a name out of the hat to
see who wins the prize. All the money gets put into the
baby's first piggy bank!
Baby's First Quilt
- Object
- Create a keepsake for
mom and baby
- Play
- This makes for a fun
activity long as someone knows how to sew. Cut out
squares of fabric that would be easy to decorate (cotton
or muslin in solid colors), one for each guest. Have
decorative items on hand, like ribbons, puffy paint,
buttons, etc. Give each guest their piece of the quilt,
have them decorate it for the baby, then have them sign
their name to their piece. After the shower, have
someone sew together the top of a very memorable baby
quilt!
-
Rub-a-Dub Baby Shower Games

up at these silly baby shower games that have to do with the
bathtub? The only way to know is to play them!
Rub-a-Dub Price is Right
- Object
- Test your guest's
knowledge of supermarket prices.
- Play
- Before the party buy an
assortment of inexpensive baby bath items and keep track
of the price of each item. Make a list of each item and

each item on their piece of paper. The guest with the
most correct (or closest) answers wins. And mom takes
home a very practical gift.
Bath Time Memories
- Object
- Get guests to
participate in making a keepsake bath gift for mom and
baby.
- Play
- Buy a large white hooded
bath towel for baby. At the shower set up a table with
the towel and an assortment of non-toxic fabric paints

arrives have them sign the towel or draw a cute picture.
At the end of the party let mom take it home.
Ducks in the Tub
- Object
- Simple--to make sure
your guests find something fun and memorable around
every turn!
- Play

rubber duckies, a few of them marked on the bottom with
a star or a number. Leave a sign in the bathroom asking
guests to please choose a duckie and look on the bottom
to see if they've won a prize.

from the silly games, get all the guests involved in one of
these sentimental favorites.

- Object
- To provide mom and baby
with a gift that keeps on giving for years to come.
- Play
- Before the shower insert
blank greeting cards into unsealed envelopes. Number

pencils, stickers and other crafty supplies so that they
can make a birthday card for each year of baby's life.
Time Capsule
- Object
- Get guests to
participate in making a keepsake for the baby.
- Play
- For when the baby grows
up, have each guest bring a timely memento from the
present day (a cd single of a popular song, a newspaper,

she can open it and see what was current when she was
born.

Toyland shower - contests that would make your kids squeal
with joy!
Puzzle Power
- Object
- See which guest can put
a child's puzzle together in the least amount of time.
- Play
- Before the shower buy
three to four wooden tray puzzles - all should have the
same number of pieces. At the shower divide guests into
groups of three or four. One at a time gather each group
around a table with a puzzle in front of each guest.
When you say "go", guests race to see who can complete
their puzzle first. The winner goes on to the next
round. Continue rounds until only one winner is
determined. The guest receives a prize and the new mom
receives the puzzles for baby's toy box.
Nursery Rhyme Smarts
- Object
- Test your guest's
knowledge of popular nursery rhymes.
- Play
- Before the shower,
purchase a volume of nursery rhymes. Make a list of
lines from the nursery rhymes such as "the dish ran away
with the spoon" or "yes sir, yes sir three bags full".
Don't be afraid to throw in a few tough ones! Make a
copy for each guest and at the shower ask them to
identify the title of each nursery rhyme. The guest with
the most correct answers wins a prize, and the
mother-to-be is presented with the book at the end of
the game. A lovely gift!

all about baby.
Sing It, Baby!
- Object

thinks quick on her feet wins a prize.
- Play
- Have guests sit in a
circle. Each guest has to sing a line from a song
containing the word "baby", and when one guest is

Bunch requires six, etc.). If you think your guests
might need a little help, at the bottom of the page
write all the names needed so they can match the names
with the shows. Have your guests play in teams of two or
three, the team with the most correct answers wins!
