Party Planning - Floral Services - CHRISTMAS IN A BOWL

Christmas in a Bowl

Giant pillar candle nestled in snow rimed Pine sprays, brilliant Carnations and glittering Tree Ornaments capture the real Christmas spirit for the holiday table or buffet.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

Large bowl ( 10" - 12" diameter)
Tall pillar candle
7 Christmas Balls
Florist clay

For artificial flowers use a 2" x 3" x 4" plastic foam holder or a 1 lb. bar of Flower Clay. For fresh flowers use a 2" pin holder & floral foam.

FLOWERS NEEDED:

6 giant Carnation sprays
2 sprays long frosted Pine Needles
1 spray Juniper

SUGGESTED ALTERNATE FLOWERS & FOLIAGE

LINE: Use sprays of Evergreen Needle foliage. Holly Leaves, etc. are also good. Follow line of Candle.
FOCAL: Fuji Mum, Camellia, Chinese Aster, Peony, Astors, Cosmos.
FILLER: Use foliage trimmed off Focal Flowers to disguise any visible parts of the holder.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1 Christmas in a Bowl

Step 1: Anchor flower holder securely in bottom of bowl with florist clay or tape adhesive.

Step 2 Christmas in a Bowl

Step 2: Screw wood skewer or heavy wire into base of candle ( let extend to depth of flower holder). Cover bottom of candle with tape adhesive. Then press into position on left-hand top side of flower holder.

Step 3 Christmas in a Bowl

Step 3: Place frosted Pine Branches in position. Use Juniper Sprays at back of arrangement.

Step 4 Christmas in a Bowl

Step 4: Insert Carnartions ( 1 through 4) in positions indicated. Remaining 2 Carnations are inserted at the back at the base of candle.

Step 5 Christmas in a Bowl

Step 5: Put ornaments in positions shown. Use regular hanging wires to secure them to Pine Branches or hook to scrap pieces of stem and insert in same manner as flowers.
